Many Cuts, One Matched Pattern
A compact bath or entry can be more interruptions than wall: vanity, mirror, casings. The repeat is lined up again after each cut, and every inside corner is hand-cut, never wrapped, which shows most in a small room.

Detached houses make up 70.1 percent of Ocean Isle Beach housing, according to the Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey. Among the rest, the most common building is a small one. Some 10.9 percent of the town's units sit in buildings of three or four units, more than in any other multi-unit size the survey counts. Buildings of five to nine units add 7.6 percent, and those with ten or more hold 6.5 percent.
A unit in a building that size can be compact. Short walls broken by a door, a vanity, a mirror or a run of cabinets make a wallpaper job mostly cutting, with the pattern matched again around every interruption. In a small bath, those cuts can add time that the square footage alone would not predict.
Then there is the decade. More than a quarter of Ocean Isle Beach homes, 27.2 percent, went up in the 1980s, and a bath or kitchen from those years may still hold its original paper. That paper comes down and the wall is repaired before the new pattern goes up. Around a tub or behind a vanity, the drywall under it may need more patching than an open wall.
If your building has an association, it may set contractor hours or parking, and the date gets set inside them. Town Hall, on the island, is about 48 road miles from our Judges Road shop.
Most customers reach us with paper already picked, their own or one a designer specified. Still shopping? Send the pattern name and we calculate the roll count from its repeat before you order. Whoever hangs it is an Intracoastal employee paid through W-2 payroll, never a subcontractor. For the whole sequence, from repeat to final seam, read our wallpaper installation page.
Any old paper stripped, and the wall repaired, ahead of hanging
Primer or sizing chosen for the paper you bought
A plumb reference line for the first strip
The repeat matched across every seam
Inside corners hand-cut, never wrapped
The finished room shown to you, then cleaned up

Small rooms set the pace. A powder room or entry in a three- or four-unit building can fit a vanity, a mirror, a light fixture and two door casings into a few feet of wall. Each one is a cut where the repeat has to line up again on the far side, so a room like that can take longer than a bigger, plainer wall. A 1980s unit adds a step at the start: if the bath still has its first paper, it comes off and the wall is repaired before new paper goes on. Note what covers the wall now, and the room, in the form's optional notes field. Any association hours are settled before the date is set.

More than a quarter of Ocean Isle Beach homes date from the 1980s. If your unit still has paper from that decade, we strip it and repair the wall as part of the installation, before the new pattern goes up.

Each installer is an Intracoastal employee on W-2 payroll, covered by our $2M general liability, workers' comp and auto policies. Behind them is a second-generation wallpaper company with Wallpaper Installers Association membership.

Town Hall sits about 48 road miles from our shop. You reach a person when you phone, we call before we arrive, and the quote is the quote we honor. Our 1-year workmanship guarantee covers the installation.

02Still choosing paper? The repeat tells us how many rolls to order. Dates usually open two to three weeks out, set inside any association hours.
03We call before we arrive. Any 1980s paper comes off and the wall is repaired, then strips go up with the repeat matched around each fixture.
04You see the room with the installer before we clean up. Our 1-year workmanship guarantee covers the installation, and the phone number stays the same afterward.
An Ocean Isle Beach wallpaper price comes from the room itself, whether it sits in a detached house or a second-floor unit in a three-unit building. These affect the figure:
Wall area and ceiling height
The paper itself; grasscloth, vinyl and unpasted papers each hang differently
Pattern repeat, which decides the waste at each seam
Old paper to strip and any wall repair afterward
How many cuts the room has, from vanities and mirrors to cabinets and casings
In a compact unit, a small bath with a vanity, a mirror and several casings can take longer than its size suggests, because every fixture is another cut. Original 1980s paper that has to come off adds removal and repair. Once we give you a figure, that is the quote we honor. Unless we source the paper for you, it is billed apart from the labor. Military households receive 10% off.

Fresh paint for the rooms you are not papering, booked with the same company that hangs your wallpaper.

Trade papers sourced for you if the pattern is not picked yet, with the roll count worked out from its repeat.
