Multi-Unit Wallpaper Installation in Caswell Beach, NC

Wallpaper Installation in Caswell Beach's Multi-Unit Buildings

Caswell Beach has a far larger share of homes in multi-unit buildings than the town of Oak Island next door. In the Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey, 27.9 percent of Caswell Beach homes are in buildings of five or more units, against about 3.4 percent in Oak Island. Most of those buildings are mid-size: 17.8 percent of homes sit in buildings of five to nine units, and 10.1 percent in buildings of ten or more. The town's 2009 land use plan places its densest housing at the Oak Island Beach Villas, at up to 19 units per acre.

A unit in a building like that is usually stacked. Someone lives above you or below you, and the halls, stairs and parking belong to everyone. So a wallpaper job here starts with the building rather than the room. Management may want notice of the date, a named contractor, a certificate of insurance on file and a set place for the work vehicle. Put whatever your building requires in the notes field when you request the estimate, and the date is chosen to fit it.

Stripping old paper is the step the unit below would notice. Water and scraps are kept on your side of the floor. Counting townhomes and smaller buildings, about two in five Caswell Beach homes are attached to another unit, so the wall you choose may be shared as well.

The other 56 percent are detached houses, where none of the building steps apply. Caswell Beach covers the east end of Oak Island, and from our Judges Road shop the route passes through the town of Oak Island, about 37 road miles to Town Hall.

What Wallpaper Installation in Caswell Beach Includes

Chances are the paper is already picked out, by you or by a designer. If it isn't ordered yet, send us the pattern and we figure the roll count from its repeat. Each installer is a W-2 employee of Intracoastal, insured under our $2M general liability, workers' comp and auto policies, and no job goes to a subcontractor. For every stage of the method, from stripping to the last seam, see how our wallpaper installation works.

Standard on every job

Any old paper taken down and the wall repaired first

A primer or sizing coat matched to your paper

A plumb line for the first strip, never the corner

The pattern matched seam to seam along the full wall

Inside corners cut by hand rather than wrapped

The finished wall checked with you before we clean up and leave

What changes in a building of five or more units

Before a date is set, we ask about the floor, the elevator if there is one, where a work vehicle can park and what management requires of contractors. If the building wants a certificate of insurance, it goes to the manager ahead of the date. Rolls, paste buckets and the pasting table stay inside your unit, and nothing is left in a shared hall. Where old paper has to come off above another household, the floor is covered edge to edge and the water is kept contained. A wall shared with the next unit is papered from your side like any other. In one of the town's detached houses, none of this applies and the job runs as a standard installation.

Why Caswell Beach Owners Choose Intracoastal Wallcovering for Wallpaper Installation

Building Rules Settled Early

Send your building's contractor rules along with the estimate request. Notice to management, a parking spot and an insurance certificate are sorted out before the install date rather than on the morning of it.

Careful Over the Unit Below

Your floor is a neighbor's ceiling. Drop cloths go down across the work area, and stripping water stays contained, so nothing finds its way into the home beneath yours.

Our Own Insured Installers

If a manager asks who will be working in your unit, the answer is our own W-2 installer, never a subcontractor. Each installer is covered by our $2M general liability, workers' comp and auto insurance.

Corners Cut, Never Wrapped

Closets, entries and kitchen returns all add inside corners to a unit. We cut every one of them by hand instead of wrapping it, so the pattern runs true on both sides of the turn.

How Much Does Wallpaper Installation Cost in Caswell Beach?

A wall in a condo, a townhome or one of the town's detached houses is priced on the same factors. The figure depends on:

            Wall area and ceiling height

Your paper, since grasscloth and vinyl each hang their own way, and unpasted papers hang differently

The pattern repeat, which sets the waste at every seam

Old paper to strip and the repair under it

Cutouts around outlets, switches, cabinets and trim

In a multi-unit building, time on site is what can move the figure: restricted work hours, a long carry from parking to the unit, or a wait for the elevator. Mention your floor and any building rules when you request the estimate. Once we give you a number, the quote is the quote we honor. Unless the rolls come through us, the paper itself is a separate line. Military households get 10% off.
