Careful on the Wall You Share
Paper coming off a shared wall is taken down in small, lightly wetted sections, and the noisy part runs during hours you agree to. Hanging new paper on a bare wall makes very little noise.

Most of Carolina Shores is detached houses, but not all of it. The Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey counts 2,955 housing units in town, 83.0 percent detached and 11.2 percent single-family attached: duet and townhouse-style homes that share a wall with a neighbor. Calabash Lakes, for one, has at least some duet-style homes. The stock is young, with a median build year of 2004, and 94.7 percent of occupied homes are lived in by their owners.
A shared wall behaves differently from the rest of the house when paper goes up. It has no windows, because it backs onto another home, so it is often the longest unbroken wall in the main living space. A pattern can run its full length with no cutting around frames, which makes it an obvious choice for a feature wall. It also sits between two heated and cooled homes, so it tends to stay near room temperature, which suits paste better than an outside wall in a cold snap.
On the other side, someone lives. If old paper has to come off a shared wall, removal is done with as little water and scraping force as the paper allows, and the noisier work is kept to hours agreed with you. Association rules in attached communities generally address exteriors rather than interior paper.
Carolina Shores lies along US 17, just north of Calabash, about 54 road miles from our Judges Road shop to Town Hall.
Your installer is a W-2 employee of a second-generation wallpaper company, and we never subcontract a job. Most people come to us with paper already chosen, theirs or a designer's. Haven't ordered? We work out the roll count from the pattern repeat so the order is right. Peel-and-stick is the one product we don't hang. For every step in detail, see how our wallpaper installation works.
Earlier paper taken down and the wall repaired
Primer or sizing suited to the paper
A plumb line set with a level, not taken from a corner
Every seam matched along the repeat
Inside corners cut by hand, never wrapped
A walk around the finished room with you, then cleanup

Layout comes first. With no window on a party wall, the pattern is centered on the wall itself, or on a sofa or bed placed against it, rather than on a window opening. If a previous owner papered it, removal starts with a test patch to see how easily that paper lets go, and the wall is wetted in small sections rather than soaked. Scraping stays light, since a gouge in the drywall face means extra patching before primer. Working hours are agreed in advance, out of courtesy to the household next door. A detached Carolina Shores house built since 2000, or any wall not shared with a neighbor, follows the standard list above.

A windowless wall puts the layout decision on furniture and sight lines rather than a window. We set the pattern's center before the first strip goes up, so the design lands where you will see it.

We are a second-generation wallpaper company and a Wallpaper Installers Association member. Each inside corner is cut by hand, never wrapped, by an installer on our own payroll.

Carolina Shores Town Hall is about 54 road miles from our shop. We answer the phone when you call, we call before we arrive, and the quote is the quote we honor.
From the first conversation to the finished room.
01Request the instant estimate and mark whether the wall you want papered is shared with a neighbor, and whether old paper is on it.
02No paper yet? We figure the rolls from the repeat. Booking usually runs two to three weeks out, and working hours on a shared wall are agreed then.
03Any old paper comes down in small sections, the wall is repaired and primed, and the pattern goes up from its planned center.
04We call before we arrive each morning. At the end, you inspect seams and corners with the installer, and our 1-year workmanship guarantee covers the installation.
In Carolina Shores, a windowless shared wall is often the simplest surface in the house to paper: no window or door casings to cut around, and one long run of pattern. The figure depends on:
Square footage of wall and the ceiling height
Your paper and its repeat; unpasted papers hang differently
Windows, doors and outlets to cut around, which a shared wall mostly lacks
Old paper to remove, and whether it comes off cleanly
Repairs to the drywall once it is bare
Where a shared wall can cost more is removal, because slow, gentle stripping takes longer than soaking a wall nobody lives behind. A wall with no old paper skips that step. Shared wall or not, the quote is the quote we honor. We bill for paper only when you source it through us. Military households get 10% off.

For the walls you would rather paint than paper, from the company that hangs your wallpaper.

We order designer and trade papers, including large-scale patterns sized for one long feature wall.

From our Wilmington base, we serve Carolina Shores and the surrounding Brunswick County area, plus the rest of the coastal Carolinas corridor.
Pick the wall and note any old paper. Wallpaper estimates are instant.
