Your Room Order, Not Ours
Tell us which rooms you can give up, and when. We finish one space before opening the next, so the household always keeps a working kitchen and somewhere to sleep.

The Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey counts about 92 percent of its homes as occupied and essentially none held for seasonal use. For interior painting, that sets the terms. Most Burgaw homes are lived in year-round, so expect to plan the painting around a household.
So the schedule is planned room by room. You choose the order, and the kitchen and at least one bedroom stay usable each night. Furniture is grouped and covered in the middle of the room, or moved next door. At the end of each day, tools are packed away and the floor is swept, so the house still works in the evening.
Age adds a second step. Of Burgaw's housing, 42.9 percent was built before 1980, and older walls and trim may carry coats from those decades. Under federal EPA rules, paid work that disturbs paint in most homes built before 1978 must follow lead-safe practices. In an occupied house, that means sealing the work area off from the rooms the family is using.
Colors are your call. Interior paint is not subject to historic-district review, including in houses within the Burgaw Historic District. Our Judges Road shop is about 24 road miles south.
Paint and wallpaper come from one company, so a single call covers both. Your painter works for us, under our $2M general liability and workers' comp policies. For every step in detail, read how our interior painting works. The list below applies in any house; the next block covers painting while a Burgaw household stays home.
Walls, ceilings, trim and doors, in the rooms you pick
Nail holes and cracks filled and sanded flush
Gaps at casings and baseboards caulked
Water marks and stains spot-primed before color goes on
Floors protected and furniture moved or covered
A walkthrough at the end, then cleanup

The room order becomes part of the scope, agreed before day one along with the rooms that must stay usable. Each room is prepped, painted and handed back before the next one is opened up. Doors to freshly painted rooms stay open until the paint is dry enough to close. Bathrooms are painted one at a time, so the house is never without one. Furniture from the room in progress goes where you choose, never into the room you need next. Wet areas are marked, and nothing is left in a hallway overnight. Working hours are set with you, so a home office or a nap schedule is planned around. In a house built before 1978, the room being worked on is closed off from the rest of the home whenever paint is disturbed.

Tell us which rooms you can give up, and when. We finish one space before opening the next, so the household always keeps a working kitchen and somewhere to sleep.

Emptying a room you still use every evening shouldn't be your job. Furniture gets moved and covered, floors are protected, and everything goes back once the paint has set.

Built before 1980? So were 42.9 percent of Burgaw homes. Ask how prep and containment work in yours, and you get a plain answer on the first call, before any date is set.

Wallpaper in the dining room, paint everywhere else? We book both trades on one schedule, so the house is disrupted once, with trim painted before paper goes up beside it.
From the first conversation to the finished room.
01Request an estimate listing the rooms, and tell us which ones the household can't do without, like the kitchen or a child's bedroom.
02Together we settle the sequence, colors and sheens, plus daily start and finish times that suit your routine.
03We call you before we arrive. Each room is covered, prepped, painted and cleaned, then handed back before the next one opens.
04Go through every room with the painter at the end. Anything you point out is touched up before the crew packs out for good.
Your estimate prices the rooms you list, with no flat per-room rate. In a Burgaw house that stays occupied, two choices shape it as much as square footage: how many rooms are painted in one stretch, and how much furniture stays put. The number moves with:
Room size and ceiling height
Surfaces: walls alone, or ceilings, trim and doors too
Repairs to holes, cracks and stains before paint
Furniture to move and cover
Lead-safe prep and containment in a pre-1978 house
How many colors and sheens you choose
Painting a few rooms at a time can take more days than an empty house would, and the estimate shows how your room order affects the schedule. Grouping the spare rooms into one stretch, then the busy ones, is one way to shorten the calendar. The number we quote is the number you pay. Military households save 10%.

Old paper, painted over or not, taken down and the wall repaired before our W-2 crew hangs the new pattern.

We source trade papers in colorways chosen to sit beside a fresh coat of paint.

From our Wilmington base, we serve Burgaw and the surrounding Pender County area, plus the rest of the coastal Carolinas corridor.
